"The term stained glass refers to coloured glass as a material and to works created from it. Throughout its thousand-year history, the term has been applied almost exclusively to the windows of churches and other significant religious buildings. Although traditionally made in flat panels and used as windows, the creations of modern stained glass artists also include three-dimensional structures and sculpture." - From Wikipedia
Our work includes domes, transom windows, side lights, bay windows, bathroom windows, three dimensional designs and custom panels. The possibilities are endless!
To the left is a example of how we typically approach a custom stained glass commision. We start with a "comp" that our customer has input on and color selections will be discussed. Once the drawing is finalized as well as any special touches that might be included, we'll proceed to draw the final "to size" pattern. This is called a cartoon from which we cut the glass from.
